Introduction:

London-born FRANCIS TOROND (1743-1812), etcher, engraver, publisher, profilist and drawing master, is today best-known for crafting a series of peerless conversation pieces between the late 1770s and mid-1780s. Rarely appearing on the market, these works have been keenly sought by collectors from the early 20th century up to the present day.
