Trewinnard, Joshua (McKechnie Section 1)

On two known trade labels, both of which he used jointly with other artists, from c. 1811 (or earlier) until at least as late as 1819, Trewinnard offered cutwork. We do not know what trade label he used during the 1820s.

No signed or labelled cut work by Trewinnard has been seen, and it is impossible to say whether his cut work was in plain black or embellished. One clue to identifying any cut silhouettes (if they were embellished) might lie in the strange mixture of Naples yellow and black seen on a painted example illustrated in Section Two.
