Known as a painter of profiles on paper from an example owned by Mr and Mrs J. Redpath. The sitter, as in most of Rought's silhouettes, is a man. The piece is painted in the same style as the artist's glass profiles, and similarly housed in an oval frame of turned wood. It bears Rought's small trade label, with his name spelt 'Wroughet'.
