Rigg, Mrs (McKechnie Section 1)

Recorded by Jackson (Dictionary), who mentions two examples of cut paper work exhibited at the Free Society of Artists, London, in 1764. Jackson recorded artists who were proficient in genre and decorative cut paper work as well as those who cut black profiles. Graves (The Society of Artists of Great Britain) lists (No. 212) the two examples recorded by Jackson, describing them as 'two pieces of cut paper'. If any cut silhouettes by Mrs Rigg should come to light, they might be in white paper, in view of the early date.
