Introduction:
Marden is recorded as a silhouette artist in Jackson’s ‘Dictionary’ based on two silhouettes dated c 1820-1830, bearing the trade label ‘F.Marden/Profilist’. Marden appears to have used an olive-green base colour for his silhouettes which was uncommon for professional profilists at the time. Nothing else is known of this artist.
